Contraindications

Strong dual inducers of CYP3A4 and P-gp: Medications such as rifampin, carbamazepine, and phenytoin can decrease the effectiveness of Eliquis by reducing apixaban exposure.
Other anticoagulants: Medicines that impair hemostasis like aspirin, NSAIDs, heparin, thrombolytic agents and SSRIs/SNRIs can enhance the anticoagulant effect of Eliquis tablet, possibly increasing your risk of bleeding.

Missed dose

In case you forget to take Eliquis at the scheduled time, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it’s close to the time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Do not increase your dosage without consulting your doctor.

Overdose

Overdosing on Eliquis may lead to more intense side effects such as unusual bleeding or bruising. If you suspect an overdose, do not panic but ensure you inform your doctor about it.
